Ok so Braves game was way fun. This is a picture of the high definition score board from my low definition camera. You make the call.

We won the game. That was last friday. Game was filled with a close-proximity high school marching band, bubblicious, and dip n' dots. Britney and I had to get our dip n' dots.

I neeeeeed to sleep. Yay for Cortney's birthday. Maybe she will teach me how to play DDR since she is an expert. Getting scared about france..... yikes!

Goodnight.

Busy busy busy!

Well, it's the home stretch. Less than two weeks than Europe, with lots of stuff to plan, lots of tests to take, lots of resesrvations to be made, and lots of packing to be done. Not lots of sleeping to be had, i'm afraid.

Tonight was Passover Sedar at my cousin's house. This is one of my favorite days in the entire year. My family is so awesome- we all get together (27 of us tonight!!!!!) and have the best time in the world. We had a kids table this year, except we were all at least 19 (my brother... but he is almsot 20- goodness!!). That's the best. Kim and I did a little song, like we used to make up plays and perform them. I loooooooooooove that I have a big family and most of us live pretty close to each other. It is so much fun. I'll post some pictures soon perhaps. I miss playing restaurant in savannah with our grilled cheese sandwiches and that really old phone.

Oh! That reminds me. I was at the gas station the other day right before it was about to storm, and I walked out of the little building and for just a second could have sworn I was at the beach. The breeze was just the right temperature and everything was really quiet. That was a nice feeling to have in the middle of the day at the gas station.
It sounds like the beach outside my house right now in Lilburn. Very windy, lots of trees that sound a little like the ocean. I get to see a brand new sea in two weeks. That's kind of neat. :)

It was good to see my brother today too. I hope I get to see him again before I go to France. Man I feel like I am going to be gone forever. I will try to post a little bit while I am gone. Maybe even some pictures!

I haven't really gone to a movie at the theater in three months. that could be a record for me. Nothing looks that good in theaters right now. Not worth $7 at least. I could buy like, a gallon of gas with that. BOO YOU, GAS PRICES!!!!

Glad to be home for the night. Trying to savor it. Sweet dreams!

FLASHBACK!! or should I say... flashdance??

Those were the days. UGA Summer Music Camp Dorm Counselor Party '04 in the 534. I'd like to point out Laura Hoadley's sweet moves, in case anybody hadn't noticed yet. This is where the #1's were first identified, where we first met "Shake it like jello make the boys say ______" (meghan varn, fill in the blank!), and where there was much dance partying to be had. I hope Europe is this much fun! Herein also lies the origins of yours and my favorite, that's right, DE-LUX. Used as a verb, adjective, noun, adverb, and interjection. We created an entire lexicon off of this.

This is a complete effort to not work on my paper. I'll probably even write more in here later, if only for the entertainment of those of you out there who are checking livejournals, blogs, facebook, and away messages after every paragraph. Now THAT is delux. Until then...

Too many cute animals around my house. Lately: Bird in the mailbox, two deer (broad daylight and they were WAY cute), the normal herd of goats right before you turn into my neighborhood, also I think I saw something like a wild turkey in front of my neighborhood the other day. Whatever it was, it was a big bird, and it was just chillin out. Weird.

Last Wind Ensemble concert tonight. It was a fun concert. Thanks for coming Kyle! And anyone else who was there.

I CAN'T WAIT TO GO TO THE BRAVES GAME ON FRIDAY!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Let me know if you want to join in. I am so excited!! Nothing is better than a Braves game to just relax and have fun (and maybe get mugged, depending on where you park). I hear the new scoreboard is pretty hot.

I'm gonna end on that note. Hot scoreboard. And hot baseball team. Goodnight.

There is a little bird making a nest in my mailbox! I don't have the heart to clean my mailbox out. She worked so hard! What do I do?

Any ideas on grad schools? Grad school people out there- do you like where you are? I am researching but I don't even know where to begin.

I am really thinking about some sour gummy worms right now. If you are reading this I am either on my way to walmart or in bed. Probably in bed, just thinking about gummy worms.

I don't really know what to say. I have not been the person I wanted to be this week and I think I have pushed people away. People that I never wanted to push away. I am good at that sometimes. I am sorry for being that girl this week, this weekend. Someone I thought I wasn't- just not myself.

My little heart is so tangled up. :( It needs to be untied.

The Chocolate Fountain

Ok, so lots to catch up on. Last weekend- went all the way to ATL with Laura H. and Megan K. and Dustin to go see an urban art exhibit at the High. We were turned away!!! So many people showed up that the line was out the door down to the parking garage basically, and they were over capacity. Our attempt to be cultured was thwarted. So we then went to the always delicious Cheesecake Factory in Buckhead. I had Godiva cheesecake and a glass of wine. Perfect. Plus I had a great night with those guys. I am lucky girl to have such wonderful friends.

Gday was pretty good. Anticipating what will be next year.

This week was hectic and I skipped a lot of class. Sometimes on purpose, sometimes because I have a newfound obsession with the snooze button.

Tonight I had a jazz gig in
Atlanta, and it was one of the best gigs I've ever had! First of all, it was pretty neat because it was this big fundraising to do, so the facilities (world congress center) were pretty nice. The stage was great- pyrotechnics, big neon arch (not kidding). Not much room, but we had some good sound set-up and a pretty good show. The ballroom dance club performed to our music, and many other people got up and danced. That's what it's all about, right? In any case, that was fun. But besides the performance aspect, there were so many other things that made it great. A lot of music groups came and performed, so there were friends to hang out with. Also- I got to dress up! And all the guys looked so nice in their tuxes.

But here's the best part, as you might have guessed from the title of this entry. We got lots of free food- and it was fancy. But they definitely had a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!!!!

It was amazing. Brilliant. A continuous fountain of chocolate. There were plates of fruit (strawberries!!!!!!!!!!!! they were delicious!), and graham crackers, marshmellows, PRETZELS, pound cake, angel food cake.... the works. I was mesmerized. Every free moment I had was spent looking at this thing and dipping food items in it. I wanted to just stick my hand in there. Maybe even my face. Chocolate. A Fountain. It's genius. In fact, I proposed to Dr. Culvahouse (also hanging out at the chocolate fountain) that we order one of these for the school of music lobby. I would coat my reeds in chocolate. In fact, I would coat everything in chocolate. Be warned- if we do indeed acquire a chocolate fountain for the school of music, your belongings might end up chocolatized.

So, on that note, it's been a pretty good week. I seem to be unable to arrive home from school before
midnight these days. And I leave for France in exactly three weeks! My room is a mess, and I refuse to leave the country with my room like this. So at some point, I am going to have to give in and clean up. I also got an email this week that really made me feel better about some things. Thank you for that, very much.

Love to all. I am going to go dream about that chocolate fountain.

Today's moral: Shoes matter.

I went to my first meeting with the Cannes program today. I think this program was made specifically for me. Everything I hear is better and better.

So apparently I will be spending my nights in Cannes on the red carpet, next to celebrities, vying for movie tickets. I was told to make sure I wear heels, because they have actual fashion rules (bouncers really) and if they don't like your ensemble, you might not get in. And apparently the shoes are a big deal (i loooove shoes!!!!). Guys have to bring tuxes, girls have to bring dressy hotness. They told us to shmooze shmooze shmooze- to get extra tickets, and even get invited to director's parties. Last year people met Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Jack Black, Tarentino!!!, and that's right- Brad Pitt. Also, some people attended a party at Johnny Depp's house. To that I say, yesssssssss.

They are equipping us with a cell phone when we arrive. We have balconies in our apartments which are BEACHSIDE on the French Riviera. We are to pick up daily magazines, periodicals, and CFF literature to map out our schedule for each day. I feel like I am a spy!!! They told us we are to fend for ourselves, and they will text message us randomly for meetings with directors, writers, actors, etc.

This is going to be the coolest and most amazing thing I have ever done- and I can't believe how perfect a fit this program is for me. I can't wait to go speak French, I can't wait for the French pastries, I can't wait to buy new shoes, I can't wait to get dressed up, I can't wait to see some actually good films, I can't wait to step foot on the French Riviera, I can't wait to ride trains across Europe and I cannot WAIT another month.

Shoe shopping, anyone? Also, I am thinking about a haircut.

I am off to have some good dreams tonight! Goodnight ;)

Monday, April 04, 2005

So, I just found out about the coolest thing you could ever possible do this friday night and you are all coming with me to do so:

Best radio station idea ever (theme of the month= radio stations): 95.5 the Be-at is going to be at the HIGH MUSEUM OF ART in atlanta on friday night. It's for an urban/contemporary art display. So- I have decided that this is the most amazing thing ever- dance party plus contemporary art plus being at the High after normal hours. And you get admission to the other exhibit that is there.

One more thing: live graffiti artist.

If no one else thinks this is the coolest thing ever, then I am obviously way lame. However, you can be cool without me while i am out being lame in atlanta. Let me know if you want to go.

On another note, at about 6:30 AM tomorrow I am going to hate daylight savings time. As of right now, I do not.

I have one month to get everything done for this semester and everything set up to go across the world. Forgive me if I seem to not know what I am doing this next month. I also think my grades are going to suffer (well, just in SPED) because I keep thinking about france when I should be thinking about other things.

I need to buy a coffeemaker, because I like the way it makes the house smell when you make coffee. I don't know that I would drink it that much, but it just smells so good. In the top 5 favorite smells, hands down.

Alright, time to face it and make myself go to bed. Goodnight!

Friday, April 01, 2005

I am so sleepy but i won't go to bed. Why do people do that? I am sitting here yawning, but can't tear myself away from watching Cheers (man... I don't know what I would do without TVLand...). But I procrastinate going to bed.... good grief. I pressed snooze about 4 times this morning just because I didn't feel like going to bed last night. Tomorrow I get to teach 2nd graders

Two of the meg(h)ans and I started a soul band. Yup.

In about a month I will be eating baguettes and nutella and croissants!!! Apparently coke is pretty expensive in France. I am going to have to detox before I go and get used to drinking... water. Gross.

I don't think I will be getting much sleep this month. Maybe I should do that now.

Goodnight...
Molly

PS- I want to try some different, not-on-Broad-street restaurants in Athens. Any suggestions? Anybody want to try them with me??? ;)
