MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

What a great and relaxing day I had. :) Wonderful.

Saw Phantom of the Opera tonight. Excellent. No words about it tonight, maybe later.

Goodnight!! :)

PS- I forgot to mention that end of semester Music History study party was a complete success. Thanks to all who made that night of studying somewhat fun! :)

Well. What a semester! Ended on a very good note.

It's nice to be home and to see everyone, however it just throws me into this time-warp feeling. Feeling of being bored after everyone goes to bed. Feeling of having to work around everyone else's schedules. Being home is actually sort of hard on me sometimes, but lord I love my family.

I downloaded (legally) a bunch of really cheesy pop Christmas tunes before I left Athens the other day. I liek cheesy Christmas music. Example: Mariah Carey "All I want for Christmas is You"- very catchy. Christina Aguilara- "This Year" equally catchy but possibly even in the category of good music (i like her- she has a great voice, and at least she is honest about being a little sketchy). Did not download Jessica Simpson version of "Baby it's Cold Outside." Gross. But did get the Ella Fitzgerald version!!! WOOOOO! Three points for me, and yes i just gave myself points.

I am no good at buying gifts. Lindsey did however like her slinky. Excellent.

So my dog does not like cleaning utensils. Brooms, mops- no good. Induces fits of howling. Vacuum cleaners however are the worst. Just the mere sight of one can be trouble. But once it is turned on, that's when my dog goes crazy. It's awesome. She also does not like hairdryers or when you pull your turtle neck up to cover your face. She thinks your face is gone. Also there was a box of firewood by our fireplace the other day and my mom left a gardening glove on top of the box and left the room. Ten minutes later she comes back in because Scarlett had been barking nonstop since she left. My dog apparently was not happy with the glove. That's right, she thought it was a random hand or something. My mom picked up the glove, and my dog stopped barking. Now Scarlett carries the glove around like it's her puppy. Lol. Reminds me sort of like this crazy cartoon dog on this movie my brother and I used to watch forever ago. Did anyone ever see the movie Scruffy? I think I've talked about it before on the journal, so check the archives, if you really want to know. I hated that cartoon.

I need to bake those cookies tomorrow. I meant to bake them like a week ago! Doh.

Time to go wrap presents!! I actually enjoy wrapping presents. Too much I think. Haha.

Goodnight!! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS- shout out to Blake. Embarassing stories requested. :) Hope to meet you soon too!

Today was wacky. Went to bed, 5:30 AM. Megan spent the night, we studied, then snuggled. Actually, she studied, I wrote a crappy paper, then we both fell asleep. Hour and a half later I am on my way to take a final. fun times. But at least i am done with these ridiculously crappy papers!!! wooooooooooo! Now just have to conquer music history (8 AM Friday), which I will begin to think about around 11 pm tomorrow night.

After final, went to Chickfila for breakfast, yum, then slept forEVER. Fell asleep to cheesiest show on earth- reruns of Dawson's Creek. Somehow was still entertained.

THEN!!! I woke up and DYED MY HAIR!!! Haha ok I just died the highlights out, back to brunette, but I somehow managed not to disfigure my face with hair dye. Nor did I ruin any articles of clothing, shower curtains, etc... I consider that a success.

hmmmm.... boyfriend in L.A. boo. him = sunny california. me = subzero GA finals misery, sans boyfriend. cannot wait to remedy. do they have Christmas trees in CA? palm trees? poinsettias? interesting....

In case anyone was wondering, the best conditioner I have EVER used came out of the hair dye box. Need to fight the winter frizzies? Dye your hair.

Ohh mannnnnnnnn, home in THREE DAYS. That means good food, sleeping in, family, dog, mad shopping dash to start/finish Christmas shopping, own bed with warm room (versus own bed in extremely cold room here), also lots of food network and no papers to worry about. Then comes Tampa, FL for new years/outback bowl. Should be fun I hope: New Years on the beach, although I am less excited about leaving GA for five days than normal.

Well, I have some free time, will go read leisurely now (yay!)

Goodnight.

Yes well, hello all, from the dark recesses of pre-finals paper-writing. I'm talking about 30 pages of papers here due by monday. It's cool though, 7 down, 23 to go.

I just saw Peter Cincotti (yeah!) on the late late show with Carson Daly (bleh...), and earlier i saw my boyz Maroon 5 on Leno. Maroon 5 is awesome, and Peter Cincotti can play some jazz. So in other words, it was a good night. Minus writing a huge paper.

I also had pizza for dinner. Yum.

So Lindsey came to see me and the roomies this weekend!! We had a blast. Something about going to walmart in fuzzy slippers makes things all better.

Speaking of fuzzy slippers, turns out cats like them. Who knew.

Hmmm, awesome things going on in my life right now, despite school. I am happier than I have been in a long time. :) I have everything I could ask for right now. God has blessed me more than I can say, and I am so thankful for all of those blessings.

Somehow, I am realizing more and more all the things I love about music. There was a long time when I though that I was in the wrong major, that I should be in other classes. I've realized that music is what I love, music will always challenge me, and music will be something I can love for the rest of my life. Whether I write it, or play it, or teach it, or write about it, I am learning that I had more love for it than I recognized. Realizing this is such a relief to me. I am finally feeling like I belong. And in more than just music... like my life is actually making a little bit of sense right now. It's nice to feel that way.

Goodnight all....
