M5 + Wholelottasaxophone+Mac+Petrushka

This week in a nutshell. Maroon 5 was fanatastic, if anyone was wondering. I have heard them play that set live three times now, so I am longing for a new album. However, this time was a completley new experience. Me and Lindsey, Morgon, Amy, Cortney, and my cousin Matt sat onstage, just the six of us. We were off to the side, on the audience's left (what is that? stage left?) partially behind one of the stage curtains. But we could pretty much see the audience. It was awing- so many people there to see one band. It was like we got a hint of what it might be like to be famous musicians, with lots of fans. We did have some people really mad that they were taking us onstage and they didnt get to go. Lol. They were yelling at the security guards (we had one!!!). I hope they thaught we were dating Maroon 5. Haha. Except my cousin Matt, and except that I don't think i would want to b/c the M5's were a little bit gross in a hot rockstar kind of way. Well, one of them at least. I met them backstage and I think that one of them had a cold and i immediately had to go wash my hands. Lol. But we had so many VIP stickers and wristbands- it was crazy. I will post pics soon. :)

Made the switch to Mac this week and I loooooooooooooooooooooove it!! Love love love! Anybody with any useful mac hints?

Thanks to everyone who came to my recital! It was fun- I was much less nervous this time than I was last year for my recital. Lots of people came, they are the coolest. however, I ended up playing for 10 hours within two days and my lips were shot after that. they still hurt a little bit!

After that I slumber party-ed it up at the house of boos (except no slumber- i left before that, and where was melissa?!?!?!?!). Laura had her retainer in and she kept trying to talk. One of my alltime favorite Laura moments. I think I would prefer if everyone in the world always wore their retainer. The world would be a lot less serious because you can't be that mad at someone who has a lisp. Lithp. Cruel word.

Last night I made a spontaneous trip to hear the ASO with Rory, Kat, Bassam, Mathew-Jeremiah-Francesco Sikes, Judith, et al. Petrushka. Reallly good. I also got to see my favorite ASO couple, the Nitchies!! They are so cute. I am glad they remember me, haha. I was scared they wouldn't since I haven't seen them in like three years. After that we met up w/ Brian Westphal and Charles Reneau and went to get some food at the rockbottom brewery in buckhead i think. I don't where we were. But I had a huge plate of "chocolate ecstasy" as the menu called it and some very nice wine. I should try something besides wine.

Happy Saturday. Post lots of comments, they are better than my posts.

Let me tell you about the *Best Week Ever*:

So... it was spring break, and I got a LOT of sleep. Saw my family and my little dog Scarlett. Had dinner with my brother. Went to a St Patty's party in the ATL, went swing dancing, had some quality shopping time with Lindsey. Got to see Fox-Boo.

But here's the best part:

So I have this shower radio at home in St. Mtn. and as I was getting out of the shower they started this contest to win an ipod (for those of you who didn't know, I had one, and yes, lost it). So I towel up and start dialing, thinking i am stupid for even trying to win. But I really want an ipod for free. So about ten minutes later someone actually picks up the phone, AND I WON!!!!! Not only did I win an ipod, but this ipod is coming from Maroon 5, a personal favorite of mine. I also won two tickets to their concert. Then I find out that i also have the chance for onstage seating (what the crap is that?!?!). Four days later, I am waiting for a call to win the onstage seating, and it never happens. Next morning, radio station person calls me and is like "The winner didnt want to go to the concert, and you're the runner up!" So- I won onstage seating, meaning that I and 5 of my friends will be sitting onstage with maroon 5. I think that might be sort of awkward, cause the audience will be able to see me. Lol. And so will Maroon 5. So I go to the radio station to pick up all of my stuff and realize I also have backstage passes. BACKSTAGE PASSES. So that's when I realize that this was the best week ever. Maybe they'll give me John Mayer's number. Hah.

Something about this semester, but it is getting exponentially better. The maroon 5 concert is going to be hott, Europe is going to be freaking amazing, and I cannot wait for either one. Plus I am making the switch to Mac, arriving sometime this week. Sweet!!!

Man, my mom can cook some great food. Yum for this week. :) See you tomorrow!!!

This week is ridiculous. Two more days until i can sleep until forevvvverrrr in the morning.

I just came back from "The House of Boos" aka Laura, Melissa, Megan's house. Laura and Megan and I had to discuss some Europe plans. Surprisem, we got pretty much nothing done except repeatedly saying how awesome this is going to be. Lol. Actually we got some stuff done. Currently looking at La Boheme at the Teatra alla Scala (Milan, and i heart Puccini) and some Tchaik 6 in London. I hope all of this works out. If you would like to donate to the Poor-College-Students'-Hopes-Of-Seeing-The-World Fund, we accept cash, checks, credit cards, cookies, and plane tickets. Plane tickets are actually preferred.

My recital is stressing me out!!!! But you guys should definitely come to the Wind Ensemble Concert (March 24 8:00PM). I think it's going to be pretty good. :)

So, I was thinking about all the things one could do on Spring Break, and I found myself wanting to go on a roadtrip to Iowa to see the Field of Dreams (yes, from the movie). Where that thought came from, I have no idea. But somehow now it has made it on my list of things to do. I am such a nerd. I have some sort of affinity for going to boring places ( as well as exciting places). Weird. Other weird places I would like to go: Kansas, random small towns, India, Russia, Texas, and Colorado. MAN I really want to go see Colorado.

Goodnight.

Confession: I like the Phantom of the Opera.

Should I cut my hair?

I can't decide whether to cut my hair for France or leave it long. Hmmm. That pic is from this summer.

I am supposed to be revising a paper right now. I keep playing around on here to procrastinate and I keep thinking I need more fake thin mints. I also found out that I am a computer genius today. I think that's temporary.

Watched Donnie Darko last night. Still an excellent movie. I want to see the new director's cut. It couldn't be any weirder than it already is. I hope I am proven wrong on that.

Oh yeah!! I went to the Botanical Gardens today!! I have never been and have always wanted to go. I am making it a goal of mine to go at least twice a month. It is so pretty there! And it's on my favorite Athens-road. Another goal of mine is to read a novel a week. That is pretty lofty and is currently interfering with my paper-writing goals. I am reading the nerdiest book ever right now, I 'm not even going to name it. It is so freakin nerdy.

On that note, I am out to write a paper (maybe).Posted by Hello

The weeks seem to be flying by, and the weekends are seeming longer. Excellent.

Today was gorgeous, and still is, and weather.com predicts even better tomorrow.

Also, found thin-mint knock-offs at grocery store. 5 points for me.

It feels like summer already. This semester is not so bad. I say this with thoughts of a paper due on Monday and a recital in three weeks (March 24th 5PM). Scheduled recital on day of wind ensemble concert- minus 5 points for me. Guess I'll just consider my recital as an extended warm-up.

I've been looking into NYU a lot recently. I have some odd ideas about grad school and what I may want to study. I will have to find some excellent ideas for fundraising, being that I have never even conceived of the sums of money grad schools ask for.

I could:
~sell a saxophone (............ that's not even funny)
~Sell some furniture. But that holds my clothes and I like my clothes
~Stop talking on my cell phone... that's actually not a bad idea
~Eat even more peanut butter sandwiches (no jelly, and is that even possible?)
~Stop driving (oak park is not conducive to that, however)
~Stop buying music (hold on, i just cried a little bit)
~Stop wanting to go places and do things.
~Start making my own clothes... (hey... that's kinda cool. i do have a sewing machine)

Well I am out of ideas. I think those aren't going to work. As for now, I am going to go eat some really cheap pizza. Sweet. Bisous!
